Research Training

The IMLR draws on its long-standing expertise to offer a rich and flourishing Research Training programme, freely available to postgraduate and research students across the UK. Transferable skills training (e.g. structuring a research project; organizing a conference; digital tools for humanities research) are complemented by discipline- specific and interdisciplinary training (e.g. modern language archives; historical methods, including cultural memory; visual cultures). This extensive programme is further enhanced by PORT, a widely accessible digital resource, including generic training, videos and resources in 8 languages (Czech, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish); a popular student-led series of seminars and conferences (GradForum); an in-house JISCMail list (ModLangsRT) and a unique day-long session of training in collaboration with the Wiener Library.
