The Chancellor's Hall, First Floor, Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU

You are invited to an evening of Decadent literature and music in the Chancellor’s Hall at Senate House. Amidst this grand setting, there will be readings in English and French from the work of Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Stéphane Mallarmé and others. And if you want to find out more about who these writers were, there will be short talks by experts on the background to the Decadent movement and its influence on British writers and artists. The evening will be enlivened by musical interludes featuring performances by professional singers.

Supported by the AHRC-funded 'Decadence and Translation' Network, the event is being held in partnership with the Rimbaud and Verlaine Foundation

All are welcome to attend this free event. Places are limited so please register in advance.
