Description

As the centre of an emerging Empire, London was the site of many intercultural exchanges—especially between Germany and Great Britain—in a multifarious array of forms, methods, and disciplines. This seminar brings together leading scholars in the Anglo-German field to explore the intercultural Zeitgeist in London during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.  

Speakers include Maike Oergel (University of Nottingham); James Raven (University of Essex); Elinor Shaffer (University College London); James Vigus (Queen Mary, University of London); Maximiliaan van Woudenberg (University of Cambridge).
