Description

This virtual event launches the volume Refugees from Nazi-Occupied Europe in British Overseas Territories, volume 20 of the Yearbook of the Research Centre for German and Austrian Exile Studies (2019). The editors of the volume, Dr Swen Steinberg (Kingston, Ontario) and Dr Anthony Grenville (London), will introduce the event. Two of the contributors, Professor Patrick Farges (Paris) and Dr Jutta Vinzent (Birmingham), will then speak about refugees in Canada and Kenya respectively, followed by questions. This volume is the first to cover forced emigration from Nazi-controlled Europe to the territories of the British Empire as a whole.
