Speaker: Vicky Young (University of Cambridge)


Vicky Young is the Kawashima Lecturer in Japanese Literature and Culture at the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Selwyn College. She is currently writing a monograph that analyses works of fiction by writers from specific categories within Japanese fiction and what they might tell us about the ideas of world literature and translation within Japan. Vicky has also just published an article in Japan Forum entitled 'Inciting the Past: Okinawan literature and the decolonising turn'.
