Description

This workshop sets out to examine scenes of translation, both from synchronic and diachronic perspectives, in literary texts across languages and cultures, and to explore the way in which literature, by evoking images, plots, and story lines for the process of translation, produces a genuinely literary knowledge of the cultural technique of translation, which is different from other forms of reflection, such as the history and theory of translation. The programme concludes with a conversation between novelist Mascha Dabić and translator Leigh Bailey.
